At macoptimize, we believe system utilities should respect user privacy completely. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the macoptimize software and the macoptimize.app website.
1. Zero File Telemetry
macoptimize runs as a local binary and local web dashboard on your machine. When macoptimize scans your disk for developer caches, logs, Docker containers, Xcode DerivedData, or node_modules, no file names, file paths, directory trees, code snippets, or system metrics are ever uploaded to our servers or third parties.
All analysis, size calculations, and deletion actions occur strictly on your local hardware.
2. License Activation and Verification
When you activate macoptimize Pro, the software communicates with our licensing API to verify your purchase. The only data transmitted during license checks includes:
- Your license key
- An anonymized hardware device identifier (used solely to enforce the 2-Mac per license seat limit)
- Application version number
No personal identity information or disk contents are attached to this license verification call.
3. Website and Payment Processing
When you purchase macoptimize through our website, transactions are processed by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments (or LemonSqueezy). We do not store or process your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details on our servers. Payment providers handle your billing data subject to their respective privacy standards and PCI-DSS compliance.
4. Website Cookies and Analytics
The macoptimize.app marketing website uses minimal, privacy-respecting hosting analytics. We do not use intrusive cross-site tracking cookies, surveillance pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.
5. Data Retention and Rights
We retain license transaction records solely for customer support, license lookups, and dispute resolution. If you wish to look up, transfer, or delete your customer support email records, you may reach out to us at any time at ammroid@gmail.com.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product updates or legal requirements. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated revision date.
